NotesThe Newton Water Tower, Newton-le-Willows was the second in the United Kingdom to be erected with patented ferro concrete. There were forty wells from the Oak Tree to the Mill Stone and the most popular well was Southworth Road Tea Well. Mr Surtees was Water Engineer.
