Annie Evelyn Holt was trained as a teacher at Southlands Training College, Battersea, London. She taught at four schools: Grecian Street Infants School, Salford (1912-1920 - Certificated Assistant Teacher); Gray Street Council School, Bootle (1920-1923 - Certificated Assistant Teacher); Knowsley Road Infants School, St.Helens (1923-1929 - Head Mistress) and Robins Lane Council School, St.Helens (1929-1932 - Head Mistress). Miss Holt introduced Froebel and Montessori teaching methods during her time as Head Mistress at the schools in St.Helens.
Miss Holt resigned her position at Robins Lane school on her marriage to Norman Ashworth Hindle on 6 December 1932, as was obligatory at this time.
In 1942, Mrs Hindle taught temporarily at Bolton Church of England St Georges the Martyr Junior School (3-16 Feb 1942).
Mrs Hindle died 23 Aug 1972 in Southport, Lancashire. |
