AdminHistory | Fred Clare was a college lecturer in Media and a keen amateur photographer. His photographs, taken over four decades, reflect the changing face of the locality and how people lived. In the 1950s Mr Clare was a superintendent at Carr Mill Sunday School. The walks and processions of various churches and schools are contained in this collection, together with street scenes. Over the years some of this work has been exhibited. Mr Clare's daughter deposited his collection with St.Helens Local History and Archive Library after his death and has no objection to his work being copied (even though some images have "not to be copied" stamped on them). |
